 Dear beautiful souls,

Welcome back to the third part of my series on the blog: 'Journeys Unfolded: 5 Questions & 5 Facts.' If you've been following along, you know that each article brings us closer to inspiring individuals who embody authenticity and positivity in their unique ways, much like the remarkable guests we've had the pleasure of featuring in parts one and two, and today's spotlight shines brightly on yet another incredible journey.

Today, we're diving into the vibrant world of Jane, an Irish illustrator and content creator known for her brightly colored affirmations and illustrations that lift spirits and spark joy. With a captivating Instagram presence boasting 346,000 followers, Jane spreads positivity through her artwork, her podcast 'Fill Up Your Cup', and her whimsical book 'The Magic of You'. Let's explore her colorful journey and uncover the magic behind her feel-GOOD creations. You can find her on Instagram, on Tiktok, on Pinterest, and you can find her podcast here.

1. question: Your illustrations and affirmations are a burst of positivity! How did the idea for #themagicofyoubook come to life, and what message do you hope readers take away from it?
Laura: When I was creating the Magic of You, I wanted to create a mini guided journey that mirrored my own, where through believing in my dreams and focusing on learning and growth I created a life that was so different from what I thought I could achieve. I wanted readers to be able to pick up the book for a little inspiration whenever they needed it, but purposely divided into sections about self-love, growth, self-belief and more so that readers could also find what they needed most depending on what phase of their own journey they were in.

2. question: Hosting @fillupyourcuppod sounds like a joy! Can you share a memorable moment or an impactful conversation from the podcast that has stuck with you?
Laura: It’s hard to pick one really; when I started Fill Up Your Cup it was really more a space for me to chat about the things I love to talk about in longer form than an instagram caption, I never expected it to connect so deeply with so many other people. Reading reviews from listeners, or getting messages that people are listening to it after a hard day or week, that is what keeps me showing up to it.

3. question: Your page is filled with vibrant and uplifting content. How do you stay inspired and maintain a positive mindset, especially when creating content for others?
Laura: So much of what I share is rooted in my own personal experiences, what I am going through or what I have just worked through. I try to stay as authentic as possible, so it’s not always about maintaining a ‘positive’ mindset but an open one and sharing that with others so that they don’t feel alone. Creating is what brings me Joy and so funnily, when I feel uninspired I find the best way back is to just create something else for the sake of creating and see where it takes me.

4. question: Can you share why you believe in the power of journaling and how it has personally influenced your own journey and creativity?
Laura: I personally am overthinking and I’ve struggled a lot in the past with negative self-talk. Journaling gives me a space to express myself, work through my thoughts and even step outside my thoughts and see them from a bigger picture. Often emotional overwhelm creates creative block, journaling allows my thoughts to flow and I imagine emptying my head into my journal so that there is space for new creative ideas to grow.

5. question: How do you balance the various aspects of your creative journey, and what advice do you have for those looking to express themselves through multiple mediums?
Laura: Balancing all the areas that I share and create as well as all the projects I work on can definitely be difficult at times so I have to be really honest with myself, first from a practical standpoint of what things most need my time and energy right now and why and secondly from an emotional or spiritual place of what am I feeling most pulled towards right now. I also regularly check with myself about what’s working, what’s not and why. For example, when I started my podcast I felt overwhelmed managing both the podcast and regular YT content and so in that moment my gut was pulling me more towards the podcast work and I put YT on pause; this year however I have been feeling a pull towards getting back into video content, so I took a long hard look at home I could make that work without burning out.
My advice to others is to be realistic and be honest with yourself - you can’t do all of the things all of the time, but there are always creative ways that you can show up for the things that you need to do and the things you really WANT to do.

+ 5 facts about Laura
* I was born and grew up in Ireland but moved away when I turned 21. I have since lived in the UK, north Italy and now in Sardinia.
* I LOVE cake and will eat it for breakfast any chance I get.
* When I can’t sleep I rewatch the US Office because it is my comfort show!
* I taught myself how to do my own gel nails in lockdown in 2020 and have done them at home ever since.
* My love of children’s books and the illustrations in them was what inspired me to learn digital illustration when I was still a teacher.

As we conclude Jane's chapter in 'Journeys Unfolded: 5 Questions & 5 Facts,' we've been immersed in the colorful tapestry of her life and work. From her whimsical illustrations to her uplifting podcast and book, Jane's commitment to spreading positivity is truly infectious. Dear beautiful souls,

Welcome back to the second part of our series on the blog: 'Journeys Unfolded: 5 Questions & 5 Facts.' If you missed the kickoff, catch up on the exciting first part here. I'm thrilled to continue this journey with you, sharing insightful interviews that celebrate the richness of each individual's story. 🚀 As we delve into 5 questions and uncover 5 facts about our featured guests, let's continue creating connections and spreading positivity together.

In this edition, we shine the spotlight on Charlotte, a true embodiment of authenticity and positivity. In 'Journeys Unfolded: 5 Questions and 5 Facts,' Charlotte graciously opens up about her experiences with body positivity, the adventures in podcasting, the inspiration behind her hair transformations, the deep connection she maintains with her community, and the transformative power of discussing mental health. With an impressive following of 100k, Charlotte keeps it real, turning her platform into a space where everyone feels like a cherished friend. You can find her on Instagram, on TikTok, on YouTube and you can listen to her podcast here.

1. question: Your journey with body positivity radiates. Any self-love tips for turning a meh day into a fab one?
Charlotte: If I'm having a bad body image day, I always tell myself my favourite quote - 'talk to yourself like someone you love.' You'd never criticise your mum's body, you'd never pick apart the stretch marks on your friends legs... so why are you doing it to yourself? This quote made me realise that the relationship I have with my body is so important and that I didn't want to be horrible to myself any longer, life is too short. Reminding myself of this usually gets me through it to be honest, alongside some journaling of why I might be feeling that way. Then it gets all my thoughts out onto paper and can do something that fills me with joy. Typically dancing, doing something creative (like scrapbooking or a pottery class) or simply relaxing and taking it slow. Prioritising my needs and mental health is so important when I'm having a bad body image day so I really listen to what my mind and body needs in those moments.

2. question: Podcasting adventure — what sparked it, and what wild topics are you itching to explore on your show?
Charlotte: I've always loved creating long-form content online (hello Youtube!!!) so I thought this might be a fun avenue to explore. 'It's Your Life' allows me to speak to new people every week, which I long for as I spend most of my time working alone, as well as learn so much about the world and different people's life stories/experiences. I really wanted to podcast to emulate what I do on my other online platforms - raw conversations, honesty and real life situations being explored. I'm itching to have a guest on It's Your Life that will be willing to talk about bullying, from the perspective of a bully! However, I know this will be hard as I'm not sure anyone wants to openly admit to bullying others, even if it was years ago. I'm hoping that because I've had guests on before that have been anonymous it will encourage someone to step forward soon enough.

3. question: Hair transformation envy! Spill the tea on the inspiration behind the color change. Is hair a canvas for self-expression?
Charlotte: I've always wanted to do a fun colour change with my hair after playing it safe and only getting highlights. I adore the copper look so it was in my head for a while then I decided to just go for it. I'm so happy with the colour, I love how it suits my skin tone and feel a lot more 'me'. I just don't know how long I'll be able to keep the root tints up though because salon prices in London are CRAZY if I'm honest, haha!

4. question: Rocking more than 100k followers! How do you keep it real and stay tight with your awesome community?
Charlotte: I think honesty and integrity are my main values for my platform. I want my community to trust me, just like I trust them when I ask for advice or help. I love that the space has become a community rather than me just talking to myself online, I've been able to connect and find my people all through rambling (maybe too openly) about my life. I'm always chatting to everyone who DMs me, whether it's just about a skincare recommendation or a deep heart-to-heart about chronic period conditions. I love how diverse and incredible the people that follow me are and I genuinely consider everyone as my own big personal friendship group I never had.

5. question: Mental health advocate extraordinaire! Share a moment when you felt the power of opening up about mental health.
Charlotte: I think the first time I properly opened up about my mental health was a powerful one - I basically broke down on my Youtube channel in second year at university and shared my innermost thoughts. I remember feeling scared to share it but also knew that it could make a huge impact. I wanted people to know that it's okay to cry, to show emotion, to feel your lowest and ask for help. Without opening up about my mental health at that time, I don't know how open I would be now. It just felt like the right moment and so powerful when I heard people sharing their stories back. I knew I'd done the right thing!

+ 5 facts about Charlotte
* I got stung by a jellyfish when I was in Bali, and in turn found out that it was a myth to urinate on the wound. Oil and vinegar did the trick to ease the stinging - how random?!
* My favourite childhood snack was Jaffa Cakes and I would only eat them in 3s, no more no less.
* For a whole year, I watched Gnomeo and Juliet every night. My therapist told me it was because there was a lack of control in my life so playing the same movie every evening gave me a sense of control - so deep haha!
* I absolutely love to inject my life with colours, I've tried being a minimal/aesthetic/clean girl but it's just not me. I just LOVE when colour throws up on everything - my outfits, my home. Colour brings me so much joy.
* My dream is to own a cute independent coffee shop that sells books and wholesome gifts that I spend all my time devoting to make it a cool, inclusive, safe space

As we wrap up Charlotte's chapter, we've enjoyed a splash of realness. Thanks, Charlotte, for sharing your story in 'Journeys Unfolded: 5 Questions & 5 Facts.' Stay tuned for more genuine tales. Until then, keep it real! 🌟🎙️

Dear beautiful souls,

Get ready for an exciting series on my blog: 'Journeys Unfolded: 5 Questions & 5 Facts' I'm gearing up to have quick and lively interviews with some incredibly inspiring individuals. 🚀 In this series, we'll explore 5 questions and uncover 5 facts about each guest. It's all about sharing stories, creating connections, and spreading positivity. Join me on this adventure as we discover the unique narratives that make each guest truly remarkable!

Meet our first guest, Andrea, a dynamic fashion influencer from Bucharest renowned for her vibrant and colorful style. Setting the tone for 'Journeys Unfolded: 5 Questions and 5 Facts,' Andrea shares her unique perspectives and fascinating insights into the world of fashion. With a devoted following exceeding 23k, you can catch glimpses of her lively creations on Instagram. Andrea's spirited approach to fashion promises to kick off our series with flair, offering a glimpse into her journey and contagious enthusiasm for all things colorful!

1. question: Your fashion palette is bursting with colors! What inspired your vibrant style, and how does it reflect your personality?
Andrea: First of all, let me express my gratitude for this opportunity and the delightful interview. Thank you so much for your kind words!
Since I was a little girl, I've had a fondness for colors. I remember bringing colorful pencils to the table and pairing them as my 5-year-old brain guided me. Little did I know, I was "reinventing" color theory. I enjoyed combining, some might say audaciously, primary red with green to create a festive Christmas color palette or pairing primary yellow with primary blue.
And this passion continues to this day! I communicate through colors, and they aptly portray my vibrant personality and lifestyle.

2. question: With over 23k followers, your fashion influence is clearly showing and growing. How do you keep your content fresh and engaging to connect with your audience?
Andrea: It's part of my personality; I tend to get bored quickly if I stick with something for an extended period. I'm always striving to create fresh styles, experiment with new color combinations, and develop innovative outfit ideas. This inclination directly influences my Instagram channel. When I find myself not feeling particularly creative, I take long walks, relax for a few days, or engage in casual conversations with my family. Afterward, the creative juices start flowing again!

3. question: Bucharest is a city known for its rich culture. How does the local scene and culture influence your fashion choices and creativity?
Andrea: Bucharest is often referred to as "Little Paris". The central area of the city exudes a picturesque Parisian ambiance! This environment truly inspires me to craft bold and dramatic looks, creating a captivating contrast with the fantastic architecture.

4. question: Colorful fashion can be empowering. Can you share a moment when your outfit choice made you feel confident and ready to conquer the day?
Andrea: Oh! That's a fun question. I love it! Actually, this happened to me a few days ago. I was getting ready for a photoshoot: doing my makeup and putting together an outfit with deep purple pieces. As I prepared and assembled the outfit, I felt so EMPOWERED. The vibrant shades of purple boosted my confidence instantly! In conclusion, I'd say that in the end, colors always do their work and make you feel better, all in a matter of seconds!

5. question: Social media is a powerful platform. How do you balance authenticity in your posts while navigating the influencer landscape?
Andrea: While I love following trends and drawing inspiration from others, I always strive to infuse my personality into an outfit. Consider a purple and pink look, which may be quite Barbie-inspired. I incorporate elements that resonate with my personality, such as a mini skirt (I'm literally obsessed with them), a fun hat (which I feel adds a personal touch), or even a colorful pair of sunglasses. By incorporating these personal touches, I aim to bring authenticity to my social media posts.

+ 5 facts about Andrea
* I am a big Cola & chips enthusiast. Whenever I get the chance, this is my favorite snack to indulge in!
* I love cooking. Mixing different spices gives me the same joy as creating outfits and experimenting with color combinations. It's so much fun!
* I love reading, especially about color theory, thriller books, and romantic novels.
* I used to sing when I was little, participating in the school choir and school musical shows.
* I could travel any day, at any time. Just give me that plane ticket, and I'm on my way!

As we conclude Andrea's colorful journey in 'Journeys unfolded: 5 Questions & 5 Facts' we've glimpsed into the vibrant world of a Bucharest-based fashion influencer. Stay tuned for more captivating interviews, each offering a fresh perspective and a unique story.
